01 — The Practice

A full-service digital agency
for the AI age.

Aureole Intelligence is a Vancouver-based digital practice for businesses that need to be discovered, trusted, and chosen online. We handle the technical and creative work modern businesses depend on every day — the website itself, the search visibility that points buyers to it, the infrastructure that keeps it reachable, and the words that make any of it worth reading.

Our clients are typically small and medium-sized organisations across fifteen industries — law firms, e-commerce operators, healthcare practices, SaaS companies, professional services firms, hospitality groups, and local service businesses. They come to us for the kind of careful, integrated web work most agencies outsource, sub-contract, or shortcut. They stay because the work is held together by a single accountable team — not a sales lead handing the brief to a project manager, who hands it to a developer, who hands it to an offshore vendor.

We are not an agency in the portfolio-and-pitch sense. We are an operating partner. The work we do is measured by whether your phone rings more, your website loads faster, your search rankings move, and your infrastructure stays up. If those numbers do not move, the engagement has not earned its retainer — and we would rather know that early than late.

The practice is organised into seven service lines — search engine optimisation, AI search optimisation, web design and development, content and copywriting, IT services, AI workflow and automation, and maintenance and care plans. Most engagements cross two or three of them. A website build sits on top of hosting, DNS, and email setup. An SEO retainer almost always wants for content. A migration implies redirects, schema, and a performance budget. The seven lines exist for clarity, not as silos — the work compounds when it is held under one roof and the boundaries between vendors disappear.

Every engagement begins with a written brief and ends each month with a written report. Real metrics, honest interpretation, and specific recommendations for the next period. Reports should be useful reference documents, not marketing material about how well the agency is doing. If something has stopped working, the report says so, and proposes what to do about it. That is the whole craft, in two sentences.

Our practice predates our name. The studio behind Aureole Intelligence has been operating quietly since 2013 at arthurwang.net — selective client work, technical writing, and open-source contributions across web, search, and infrastructure.

We are based in Vancouver, British Columbia, and we work with clients locally, across North America, and throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Our infrastructure spans providers in Canada, the United States, Hong Kong, and Australia — matched to wherever your audience and your latency budget live. Most of the work is remote by design, because remote work is what lets us focus on the work rather than on the commute. For local clients, in-person meetings are available when they add value; for everyone else, video calls, shared boards, and weekly written updates do the job better than they have any right to.

Quietly modern. Considered, results-first, never loud. Closer to a private tailor than a software start-up — that is the register we have chosen, and it is the register the work requires.

02 — Our Values

Principles that
shape the work.

Three principles run beneath every engagement, every report, and every late-night decision about how a piece of work should be done. They are quiet, not loud — but they are the reason clients stay past the first quarter.

i

Process over heroics

Good web work is boring on the inside. Documented procedures, checklists, staging environments, pre-deploy reviews, written reports. The reliability comes from the process, not from any individual’s memory or instinct. We keep written records of every decision, every configuration change, every deployment — so that when something eventually breaks, we can trace it, fix it, and prevent it from recurring without relying on what someone happens to remember.

ii

Transparency by default

You have access to everything we do. The project board is shared, the hosting credentials are documented and stored under your name, the reports include the actual numbers rather than cherry-picked graphs. Agencies tend to lose clients not because the work is bad but because the client has no idea what is happening. We solve that by making the work visible at every step — the cost of the visibility is far less than the cost of the silence it replaces.

iii

One accountable partner

You talk to the people doing the work. Not a sales lead who passes your request to a project manager, who passes it to a developer, who passes it to an overseas team. One point of contact for the lifetime of the engagement, who knows your setup, your history, and your priorities without needing a re-briefing. This is how smaller teams are supposed to work, and the communication overhead is near zero when the model is set up this way.

03 — How We Work

Simple,
direct, documented.

Most engagements move from the first call to the first deliverable in two to three weeks. No sixty-day discovery phases, no retainer-first gatekeeping, no separate invoice for the privilege of being audited.

Four stations, repeated for every engagement and every retainer cycle. The shape of the work is the same whether the brief is a five-page audit or a multi-month migration.

Stage I — Discover

Discover

A free 30-minute consultation. We listen for what is working, what is not, and what success looks like in numbers — not adjectives.

Stage II — Plan

Plan

A written proposal within a few business days. Scope, timeline, and fixed pricing. No discovery-phase invoice, no sales follow-up call until you ask.

Stage III — Execute

Execute

Weekly written check-ins. A shared progress board where every task is visible. Real-time access to the work — not a black box that opens once a month.

Stage IV — Report

Report

A written report at the close of every month. Real numbers, honest interpretation, and the specific moves we propose for the next period.

The agency that owns the website, the search, the words, and the wires answers a different kind of question. It answers for the whole outcome.
— The Aureole Practice —
04 — A Note on Naming

Why Aureole.

An aureole is the soft halo of light a bright object casts at its edges — the gilded ring around a saint’s head in a Renaissance painting, the corona that spreads from a candle flame in a dim room, the warm glow that makes a logo on a search results page register as the one to click. It is not the brightness itself. It is the attention the brightness earns.

That is the position we have built the practice around. The work we do does not invent a business out of thin air; it makes the business already there easier to find, easier to trust, and easier to choose. Better search visibility. A faster, more credible website. Words that read like they were written by a person, and infrastructure that does not embarrass anyone at three in the morning. The compounding effect of all four is the halo — the quiet sense, on the buyer’s side of the screen, that this is the practice worth phoning.

The promise sits in two short lines: Bring Clients to You. An all-inclusive digital practice for businesses big and small — web design, SEO, AI search optimisation, content, infrastructure, and care, all under one roof, all answerable to one team. Quietly modern. Considered. Built to compound long after launch day.

The practice is the name. The name is the practice. Both keep their promise by being a little quieter than the work itself.
